We set out from the lovely stately home, Dalmain House, just short of Pooley Bridge, owned by Robert and Jane Hassell McCosh. It was pouring with rain but that didn't put anyone off. As patron of CAN I made a little speech thanking every one for for coming along and the Countess of Dundonald set us off.

It was a lovely walk in the rain to Dacre Church about two miles away. The dogs were incredibly well behaved and there wasn't a single fight or even a snarl.

After the Hindoo blessing by Pratima, whom you can see in the background in her lovely Nepali Sari, we had a tailor-made prayer and a blessing for dogs from the Vicar. The only dog that barked during the ceremony was his!

Trooping out of the church, back to Dalmain House, for a delicious lunch and plenty of good crack.

Altogether a very English affair!
