On my way to Australia to see my family and join my son Joe for a trek in Bhutan, I stopped off in Hong Kong to give a lecture to a packed house for the Hong Kong Section of the Royal Geographical Society, meet up with old friends and going for a walk with my good friends of Berghaus Asia.
| Meeting up with friend of many years, Leo Murray at my lecture to the Hong Kong Section of the RGS. We had more than A full house - they were sitting in the Aisles and standing at the back. |
|
| Last Sunday, the morning after we arrived in Hong Kong, Christian Larrson, our base camp manager on the 1985 Norwegian Everest Expedition (far right) invited me on a boat trip to one of the Hong Kong Islands. Rupert McGowan, Directer of the Hong Kong Section is on the left. |

| Heading for our boat, a lovely old wooden launch. |

| Our host and boat owner, on the right, entertaining us very well - if only all expeditions were like this! |
|
| On Tuesday I had a great afternoon with our team from Berghaus Asia on a walk over Jardine's Lookout and Mount Butler. Hong Kong is the most amazing city in the World where a few minutes walk from the dynamic city of high rises you can be on a path through impenetrable bush leading into wild hilly country. |

| Just in case we think we are lost! |

| On top of our mini Everest at the end of a real fun walk - and of course we've got to get down!!! |
